CHARM 2024 - New Jersey
By Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s loving grace, the Chandi Sahita Atirudra Mahayajna (CHARM 2024) successfully concluded on the holy day of Guru Poornima, July 21, 2024 at the Sarva Dharma Service Center, Farmingdale, NJ. This Yajna started on July 13. It marked an unprecedented participation and cooperation of people all over the world physically at Sarva Dharma Service Center. Additionally, many thousands watched it live online. The Universal Mother and Father were worshipped and prayed to bestow universal peace in these days of clashes, wars and uncertainties. The nine-day offering was a part of Birth Centennial celebration of Bhagavan Baba and fourth CHARM in a series of five, before the finale at Puttaparthi in February 2025.
Many scores of volunteers have put in many days of hard work in the July heat and many months prior to make it a grand success. Whether it is in the site operations or material management or food arrangements or accommodations or transportation or caring for the Priests, kitchen management, audio, video and streaming arrangements several volunteers were the backbone of this humongous undertaking. The three priests who came from India specially to conduct this Yajna were overwhelmed with the convenient arrangements that were made for them as well as for the attendees. The 176 ritwiks who participated in the 122-day daily sadhana preceding the offering deserve a special mention, as do the Young Adults who enthusiastically participated in, and in fact, led some areas.
The event got a great amount of praise from the local township officials calling them “the largest tents we have ever seen” and the most peacefully conducted event etc. The event also brought in a lot of cooperation and help from the municipal and health authorities and went on without a single citation. The town Council and the State Assembly and Senate gave out Proclamations praising and wishing the participants and Sarva Dharma Service Center for their varied services to the community and society.
All participants from four continents and several countries were very blessed to have been part of it and we thank them.
Above all and at the bottom of it all, we express our collective gratitude to Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba for His love, grace, and unending blessings to this offering. We pray to Him for His continued guidance to us as we put in our human effort to take Sarva Dharma Service Center to a new high.
